lift pump..oil-filled motor?

does anyone know off hand if the the lift pumps are oil filled!! reason i ask is i had mine sitting on my tool box and picked it up just now! oily smelly stuff came out.. i figured it was old fuel.. but like 20 minits later i moved it again and tilted it more came out. i dont remember leaving fuel in it . and i have taken it apart before i stored it!

need to know if its trash now. or if i should see it it will work if i put it back in.
funds a extremely low at this point , so new one is not an option.

thanx

The Carter style stock lift pump is fuel cooled. The entire motor is bathed in fuel. It should be fine to use again.
