Nope, don't worry about it. I checked my "99" and found the new style timing cover. The KDP cannot come out. Sleep tight.

Unless you want to spend 5 hours wrenching the cover off & on.

If you don't have a fuel pressure guage don't go to sleep tonight until you have one ordered. Don't drive your truck again until you put one on.

Please fill out your signature so we know what truck you have and what you have done to it.

Got the guage ordered yet? huh?

Well?

Well? What kind did you get?

You can still see the dowel pin,,, BUT there is a shoulder on the inside to stop the pin from comming out,,,, Check My gallery for a photo of the new case,, I just asked this question on this forum,,

Beat me to it. You can see in the photo the pin has a raised "boss" to keep it from falling out.

Not if you've got a 24 valve.

I have no idea what you are talking about.
Must have had the camera at the same angle.

Is it really? I'm not too sure.

There is a thread floating around here that addresses the differences between a 12 valve and a 24 valve case. There is no way a 12 valve case can be mounted to a 24 valve that's running a VP44, since the cases are very different. I received an email from Cummins, which admitted there was a problem with 12 valves, but when they retooled for the 24 valve, the issue was addressed.

Geico266 learned first hand. He also addressed a part number for the case in one of his threads: 53040202AB. There is an earlier part number of: 53040201AB, I'm not sure if it has been checked, but mine is a 53040203AB.

Let the games begin!

I just added another photo to my gallery, from the backside of the case so you can see the shoulder in the case to hold the pin in.. Need to wait for approval to view.. WOW That was quick!!

piperca ,,, You mean to say there are NO 24 Valve CTD with this problem?
