"Jumpy" oil pressure

I have an Ultra lite mechanical oil pressure guage that is tapped into the
oil filter housing. Has always been steady in it's read outs.Changed the
oil and filter yesterday and now the needle shakes kind of like a fuel pressure
gauge without the snubber. I have always used a Mopar oil filter , which I
thought was a rebadged Fleetgaurd. My question is , is there some type of
sping loaded bypass in this filter that might be bad ?Also went from Valvoline
Premium Blue to Delo 400 because I couldn't find the Valvoline.
