This may be the first time I might be able to help somebody out. Usually, I am the one asking for help.

I had this same squeak in my truck. Believe it or not, it was a pinch weld on the body. Rather than rewrite what has already been written.

This solution solved my problem and saved my sanity.

On my 01 the squeak turned out to be some black foam inside the drivers fender. It looks like it is used to seal something in the fender.

I could see it with the door open looking through towards the hinges. It had unstuck and fallen inside the fender. It was rubbing and squeaking like crazy. I went through a whole can if WD-40 and finally found it.

I pulled it out through the door hinge area and threw it on the tool box in the garage. The noise has been gone for 3 months now.

I bet it was hard to find! Do you know how much the kit to fix it is from dodge? Is there a TSB I should refer to? If by some chance the hose trick doesn't work. On a side note J BODY some of us do realize that there are some good tecs out there, such as yourself, and the guy who showed me how to verify the squeak. It was just too bad he wasn't the guy that worked on my truck first. The first guy couldn't pour pee out of a boot with instructions on the heel (but thats another story). So keep up the good work. We do appreciate it!

There are two picts in my photo gallery on how I rid of the linkage squeek. The rubber piece is slightly larger than the gap in the linkage so you have to pry it slightly to get it into place. After it's installed it holds tension on the crossbar.
