Irritating Squeak?
This may be the first time I might be able to help somebody out. Usually, I am the one asking for help.
I had this same squeak in my truck. Believe it or not, it was a pinch weld on the body. Rather than rewrite what has already been written.

This solution solved my problem and saved my sanity.

On my 01 the squeak turned out to be some black foam inside the drivers fender. It looks like it is used to seal something in the fender.
I could see it with the door open looking through towards the hinges. It had unstuck and fallen inside the fender. It was rubbing and squeaking like crazy. I went through a whole can if WD-40 and finally found it.
I pulled it out through the door hinge area and threw it on the tool box in the garage. The noise has been gone for 3 months now.

You have no idea how long it took us to find this noise a few years ago!! I'll try to get the photos up tonight when the truck gets home......no I don't get to drive it

There are two picts in my photo gallery on how I rid of the linkage squeek. The rubber piece is slightly larger than the gap in the linkage so you have to pry it slightly to get it into place. After it's installed it holds tension on the crossbar.
