Installed New LP

Just got done replacing the LP and wow! The tapping and knocking I was hearing before have gone away completely, and it feels like the truck has a lot more power! Just home I caught it in time before it did too much damage to the VP....

The new LP should not give you any performance benifit. It simply circulates fuel to the injection pump.

Hearing an LP does not mean it is pumping. I had a stock LP go bad out of the box in a week.

Better get a fuel pressure guage.

If your truck was running a negative fuel pressure then you would in fact see an improvement in engine performance with a new lift pump. I've seen a couple of trucks that this happened to. Both trucks now have well over 100,000 miles on the original VP44s.
