I recently installed the EDGE 150hp injector nozzles. The first spin around the block revealed a problem. When the truck is running it is building SERIOUS pressure in the fuel tank. I had to drive it home with the fuel cap off because of the pressure. The whole time it blows out diesel fumes. If i cap it, then it would literally explode my tank. I starting to take apart the engine to check my work and noticed the 1st injector "coppper" seal was seriously damaged. Injector #2 was fine. Thats when I stopped. I have to wait till Monday to order the new seals. Do you think that is the problem with the pressure build up? Fuel being sent back into the tank? The injector was dry and black, not oily like the other!

Your on the right track, definitely sounds like you compromised an injector sealing washer, #1 as you said was damaged, and it was pushing compression right into the return line back to the tank.

 

Yes definetely. exactly like jd said I seen it happen too!

 

Do not drive the truck until its repaired! You can also be pushing fuel into the oil as well.That problem will be even bigger.
