how often should injectors be tested.my truck is making too much black smoke.have to leave the box turned off.have about 100k on DD II injectors.The injector pump has 180k on it. havent found any boost leaks.

 

fuel in the oil? did you check yet?

 

DD 2's do smoke a lot. With the lag from your HX-40, and an automatic, a lot of smoke, pre boost would sound normal to me.

If no hard starts or rough idle.... I suspect injectors are ok. Did too much smoke just start to happen??

Im guessing you can see the fuel in the oil and you have to drain the pan when you do this? I though diesel was oil based so wouldnt it mix right in with the oil?

 

used to run the box on setting 2.smoke not to bad.now it smokes with the box off and doesnt clear up.boost runs up to 30 to 40 pounds.i even get a small cloud when i start it .

 

i have a stock truck and get a fart of smoke when i start
