Injection Pump Failure What To do Now...............
Injection Pump Failure What To do Now...............
Well that dead spot in the throttle was the injection pump after all. The ******* said it would be $3500 to replace and that warranty has been voided because I have a box. Of course I said no I don’t and they say oh yes you do, 5 star says the only way the codes pulled from your truck is caused from a box. Long story short 6-7 hours of fighting with the service manager he made a deal for me to pay for the repair if I paid the first $1000. So has anyone else had this problem? Has anyone else have their injection pump go out if they have a box? Does the edge ez put to much pressure on the inj pump? What exactly does the edge ez do to our trucks?
Sorry for the long questions Just looking for info before I put this thing back on a new Inj pump.

Re:Injection Pump Failure What To do Now...............
Sorry, I don't have many answers, but I'd like to know what codes they pulled up. I hear if you take the battery cables off for 30 min, it will erase the codes stored in the memory. With so many people on here running EZ's and Comps, and other boxes, I doubt that the EZ killed your pump. It probably didn't help, but the EZ is a mild box. Just wait a while and someone with the knowledge will answer your questions.
Re:Injection Pump Failure What To do Now...............
In the good ole days,
Dodge's code readers didn't dig deep enough to be able to see if you had a box or not.
DC got wind of Cummins code reader,
which digs deep, deep into the ECM and sees traces boxes leave behind.
Dodge now has access to those readers and can tell right away if a box has been on the truck or not.
Taking the battery cables off might clear some codes in the PCM, but the ECM must have a lithium backup battery, as it doesn't work on it.
In theory, it stores a lifetime of information in there.
Since the EZ doesn't pierce the pump wire,
it really shouldn't have that much effect on the pump.
That's probably the only reason you got a slight deal with the service manager.

Re:Injection Pump Failure What To do Now...............
$3500 seems a little out rageous. My dad's injection pump on his Chevy 6.5L was only about $1800 installed. I don't know how much different it was, but that's all he payed.
Re:Injection Pump Failure What To do Now...............
my injection pump cost $1800.00 installed and of course because i had a banks system installed the work was not covered by warranty. both banks and the dealer blamed each other and i was in the middle. S.O.Bs!!
what can you do? i paid it and will not hook up anything until after my warranty expires.
