The more torque multiplication a gear has to do, the more friction there will be in the gearset, and thus, less efficiency at transferring energy.

4.10s don't hurt mpg JUST because of their effect on RPM-- they have more driveline loss (marginally).

I just got back from Ontario, OR and check my MPG number on this fill... 20.37 MPG. I had my cruise set for 55 MPH and no more! No engine mods on this truck. Also the truck was empty (cargo).

I drive about 70 miles a day (HWY) and fill up about once a week. I'm consistantly getting around 20.3. Once I get out of traffic I set the cruise on 67 (just below 2000RPM). I found if you want mileage you just have to leave earlier and drive slower. Driving at 75 - 80MPH I get 16MPG so big improvement.

Lately I've been getting around 19 MPG at 60-65 MPG. At 70 MPH or about 1875 RPM I only get about 17 MPG. When it was stock I could pull 19-20 at 70 MPH/2000RPM. Who ever said larger tires will improve your mileage is a lier. Since putting on the D25's and 315's I've lost between 2-3 MPG. I'm going to be removing the springs and going to a 285.

I get 18 +/- 0.5 in town.

and 20-21 highway at around 60-75 MPH. Empty. Hand calculated.

The Catcher got me about 1 MPG on the highway, no difference in town, I wonder why?

My Rpms seem to be higher, I run 2000 or a little more @ 65 in 6th gear with cruise on...But the truck only has 2000 miles on it...Stock tires and everything...Overhead says 15.8 to 17...How do you know what gears you have? Mine said like 11.5 on the sticker, never seen it put like that?

As you can tell I'm very new to this CTD thing....LOL

I get about 18-19 on the freeway with my Comp box on level 2. Not bad for being on 37s.

Just got 19.3 MPGs Would have gotten 20 if I didnt have all those mountains to climb. Grapevine on Interstate 5 Ca. and others out of Palmdale/Lancaster. Always between 65 and 75 mph. Dang good for a 3500 4x4 with too much stuff hanging on it. I sure like my CTD. What a power house.

The mileage I got was hand calced. I only blew smoke a couple of times. Had to make sure she was still running OK

Dont the performance boxes distort the overhead readings? Some of these claims of 24 mpg are a little high. I am wondering if people rely on that overhead too much. (placebo)

What's everybody else getting?
Thats what I get. I have a 6spd with 3.55's, my truck turns about 2200-2300RPMs @ 75 mph. I must have a very low geared transmission.
