Question How tight for couplers?

I checked the couplers for the intercooler and intake, and 3 of the clamps were barely over finger tight. The only ones that were any kind of tight were the ones that you have to get from the bottom. Question is, how tight should they be? I tightened them all fairly tight, but not super tight. I'm only getting arould 28 lbs of boost with the EZ, and I've heard people getting in the mid-30's. I'm hopeing this will help.

I tightened mine as much as I could with a 1/4" drive ratchet. I get around 26-28 psi but I also have a exhaust brake which I believe dropped my boost about 2 psi after installation.

Tighten them all! Don't use the gorilla wrench, but do like KATOOM did. I also have the EZ and a home made "boost elbow" (heavy spring and turnbuckle) on my HY turbo. I could only get about 27 lbs. boost until I added the DD 2's. Now it goes to the peg on my 30 psi gauge.

Drove to work this morning, and got up to 29. That seems fairly normal, so I'll leave it at that. Thanks for the imput. One question- how do bigger injectors increase boost?

Diesel engines work like a furnace. The more fuel you shove in it the hotter it gets, just as long as there is enough incoming air to support the combustion. Well when you run larger injectors you are putting in more fuel and fuel is heat. The increase in boost is because turbos dont just run on air flow, they need heat to run. More heat = more boost. Hope I made sence.

How tight you tighten them depends on how much boost you are running

I tighten them down with my Milwaukee drill, till it stalls and have still blown off the boots once in a while.

Thanks for the explaination. I didn't know either, was just reporting on what I see on the boost gauge.

You are a brave man! If I did that with MY Milwaukee drill, I would break my wrist for sure. 11amps, 800rpm makes for a lot of torque!
