How to Reset diagnostic trouble codes?
You're going to have to have someone do it for you or pick up an OBD II code reader that has that capability. I bought one at Walmart for about $100, but I think they start out around $70. There is no other way to clear codes on these trucks.
By the way, welcome to DTR...try to get your signature filled out w/ info about your truck so we can help out more.

Thanks Mike! I'd been trying other things to no avail. I didn't realize the readers have gotten pretty reasonable, I'll pick one up. I updated my profile the other day so it should be showing up. Its a 2002 6spd with some performance mods. I've been having trouble with dead peddle and read on DTR how to check the codes, found a 0216 and the 0234. I need to get rid of the 0234 before I take it in for a warranty VP replacement.

Your details still aren't showing up in your signature. To edit your signature, click on "User CP" (CP means Control Panel) towards the top of the page, then on the left hand side it should say "Edit Signature" or something to that effect; click on that and fill in your signature with your truck's details. That way it will show up at the bottom of every post you make so we don't have to dig into your profile all the time. Not trying to nitpick at you; this will just help us help you a lot better.
I wound up picking up an Actron scanner from Advance Auto Parts for $128. Extremely easy to use, all menu driven. Plugged it in and two minutes later the codes were gone. Thanks for all replies! The rig is going in for warranty repairs.
Good news, the dealer is going to replace the IP under warranty. I'm wondering if they put in a brand new IP or a remanned one. I'll ask on Monday. They are recommending that the injectors be cleaned as well, as they may have gear shavings in them, the cost was around $250. I declined this as I might better spend that on upgraded injectors. Anyone have issues with gear shavings in the injectors? First I have heard of that issue.

yep, most warrantee’s cover non warrantee parts IF the warrantee’s parts causes a non warrantee part to fail, I’d say by trying to get you to pay for the cleaning they are padding their own pockets.
Actually I believe if you look in the warrantee booklet it will likely say that in there some where
My 2 cents,

When I spoke to him I asked him if the injector cleaning would be covered since a the IP failed under warranty and he said no. I'm thinking the service writer was giving me some BS to get me to pay for more services.
So fill in your location and maybe someone is close to help. If in MD we do injectors all the time and it has become pretty easy to do.
