You should have a regular Dana 70 The only time I have seen a 70U is in a 1st gen (89-93) Randys Ring & Pinion should help.

If 32 spline axles it is a 70U.
I believe autos had the 70U.
With trucks having miles etc on them, a good rule to follow......
Pull the axle and count the splines, then you know for sure.

32=70U

Thanks. It was a 70U behind the automatic. New bearing install was simple (and much overdue, the larger pinion race & bearing was very pitted), no changes had to made to the shims.

If LSD...was it a Power lok, or a Trac Lok?
My D70 is a power lok... trying to discover if I am blessed with an odd ball (better) limited slip or if Dana 80's are only ones that went to the Trac Lok in all their axles.
