4.30's for the dana 70U

I am wondering if anyone knows where I can get 4.30's that will fit my current carrier for my dana 70u? I have been striking out. I can find them for the 60. I would like to go with 4.30's then i don't have to change my carriers.

Thanks

Did you try Randy's ring and pinion?

To the best of my knowledge, there is no 4.30 gear for a D70. Why not just go with the 4.56's?

CTDNUT - I was trying to avoid swaping the carriers. What it looks like I am going to do now is go with the 4.56's. The rear will be a 4.56 thick gear so I can use the same carrier and not worry about the abs. The front I will put a new carrier in and 4.56's.

I have two questions - The abs for the front is on the axle and not the diff right? Two, should I get the master install kit for the front and back or just a couple shim packs?

Thank you,

The front ABS sensors, if equipped, are located in the bearing hubs and will be uneffected by carrier changes. If you are not changing the rear carrier during the gear install, I would still suggest the master kit since it is worth while to install new carrier bearings during the gear swap. I'm not sure why you don't want to change the rear carrier? The thicker gear tends to leverage the carrier more which can lead to additional deflection under heavy load - read weaker. For your application and power level, using the thick gear would not be a wise choice.

CTDNUT- I was told that I have to do some fabrication to make the abs work if I change the rear carrier. What is your opinion? I was told that the tone ring is on the carrier and that if I change the carrier I need to change the sensor location.

Also, with 37's should I upgrade to 35spline rite away since I plane to drag race and pull...just wondering.

Thank you,

Paul
