Does it wait for the grid heaters to stop cycling or what?

 

nope, couple of mins without you hitting the brake peddle, then min or two later if still cold 3 cyl idle(<15 f) .... warms her up nice but she'll rattle a little.

That's what I thought. Now that everything is turned on, my remote start and high idle will make those cold hunting trip mornings much nicer

 

Just an FYI on the remote, I had to have mine reprogrammed after
enabling the cold start option. Could just be with the type remote starter I've got. Alls well now, took all of 30 seconds to reprogram.

 

What was the issue that came up that you had to have the remote start reprogrammed?

 

The remote start relies on the tach signal to tell it that the engine is running, or moreso, idling.

Cold start option idles then ramps up, perhaps making the remote start think there's a stuck throttle, so it would shut down to avoid damage.

Simple reprogram with more idle range fixes it.
