hopping/clunking rearend

hopping/clunking rearend

hey guys, here lately when i take off my truck hops then takes off.i dont know what it could be.it also clunks when im accelerating and slowing down. my rearend is an open diff dana 70. any of you guys had this prob and what did u do to fix it? any ideas would be appreciated.

Kinda sounds to me like ya got a U-joint out of it. Mine clunked real badwhen for some reason it spit out a end cup. Never did figure that out, it was tight, and I always grease...But anyways, roll under there and push up and down on the driveshaft, then side to side and check for any movement at the rear end, and at the back of the trans.

Need more compression (extension) on your traction bars. What type are they? Also...what tranny in your 99?

they are home made traction bars and i have a 5 speed tranny.
