Ok guys I need your help. I have a 01 cummins with 250000 kms and my turbo is making me nervous. It makkes its normal whining sound up to about 12psi, but after that it sounds almost like its rubbing or grinding on something. I dont know much about turbo components but is there a bearing that could be worn and replaced. If the turbo is shot can anyone suggest an replacement for me. Thanks in advance for the help!!!

 

Welcome to the DTR. Pull the intake hose off of the turbo and look inside the lip to see if there is any shiny spots. You can probably look in the classifieds and find another stocker or maybe someone could suggest an aftermarket one for ya.

 

you can buy a rebuild kit off of the net simple to do. Just take your time and make sure you get it rebalanced.
