I got back from a 600 mile round trip today. My truck ran like a Baby going down on the first 300 mi. leg except for twice it had a skip and jump. On the way back it would act like the engine would take off and slow up like you would step down on the accelerator and let up real fast and sputter. My fuel pressure was about 11 PSI and did not move. It got more frequent as time went on until I got off the interstate. Hope someone can help me.
I checked and it didn't throw a code. I didn't know how to describe it maybe the best way is it was cutting out then run fine for a mile or so then cut out again. I did see black smoke a few times.

 

When was the last time you changed your fuel filter? Also check your air filter and see if it is clogged. Sounds like the air filter to me.

 

Just changed the fuel filter a couple of weeks ago when I had a new lift pump put on. I have a K&N air filter and its been a while since I cleaned it. Thanks for the help and hope its that easy.
