I got the APPS replaced on my 01' under warranty, & it was the 5yr. 100,000 mile warranty, not the 3 yr. 36,000 mile, my truck had about 75,000 miles on it & no extended warranty, one dealer told me it wasn't covered, but another dealer covered it by replacing the whole assembly & not just the sensor, might try a different dealer?????? sorry bout the trouble, & I'd definatly consider the backslide to the properly valved crowd!!!!!! I know I'm not regretting it, Dusty

It's not available as a separate sensor at the dealer. It is an assembly as the tps is calibrated to the mounting plate you get with it when you purchase it.

Yup, Some members have reported driving 40,000+ miles on a weak VP-44 Injector Pump. Symptoms are (but not always)... hard starts... weak top end throttle.... dead throttle.... poor mileage..... engine dying suddenly.
As close as I can figure, mine went about 8,000 miles with gradually decreasing performance, before it threw the dreaded P0216 (?) code. Really snuck up on me.
