help me please
My truck wont start or actually it started but shut off right away a friend told me to put a salamander heater under it and I did and nothing yet. He says its ice in the fuel line could this be it. I didnt use any antigel or anything cause Ive been following the manual. I have the 04 1/2 dodge cummins. I was plowing till late last night and it was plugged in all night long. Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated. I live in jersey so it is cold now. I have to get to work.
Thanks Don

I had a gelling problem on my '94 3500 years ago when I lived in NJ. It had an aluminum bed on it. Since the factory bed wasn't there, there was nothing blocking the freezing cold air from blowing on the tank. It gelled so bad that it would only drive a few miles before it would stall and not start. Trying to start it, It would sound like it had no compression at all. After waiting a few minutes it would thaw enough to get me a few more miles.
I got it to the dealer ( 35 miles) and they left it inside and directed a heater under it. I told him where I bought the fuel at. He said he called the supplier (big NJ company with green trucks
) and they stated that they weren't adding anything for gelling that year which is kerosene from what I understand. Took 3 days to get the tank de-gelled.
From that point on I would add some kerosene when I filled up.

Use Power Service 911 in the red bottle. Take your fuel filter off, put in new filter fill with 911, reinstall, dump remander of bottle in tank, wait 10-20 minutes, crank engine, it should start.
Do not use Power Service 911 on a regular bases, only in emergencies, use power service anti-gel in the white bottle at every fill up, you should never have to worry about gelling again.
