My ECM went out on me today and I am looking for a replacement. Anyone know of a good source? TIA

A new ECM/PCM is not cheap, and most times you cant bring them back if you missdiagnois, I'd try a local salvage yard, your sure to get it a heck of a lot cheaper, and most places do give some kind of warrentee

 

FWIW.... An ECM from an automatic will work in a manual tranny, but not the other way around.

I was on my way home from work, made a quick stop and when I tried to start it up....the engine would crank, but wouldn't start. Reminded me of starting it after an injector or ff change.

I pulled these codes: 0122, 0500, 0232, 1475 and 1693

Had it towed to DDP and now it sits until an ECM is found.

I've gotten 1st gen ECM's from either AutoZone or AdvanceAuto.

 

Mine went out over a year ago and I called Bob Wagner but he did'nt have any at the time. He gave me tne number from someone he knows. His name is Ollie and his number is 704-855-2679. I got a used one for $500 and it been going for over a year so far and no problems so far. Give him a call he might have what your looking for.

 

I have one in my garage. I'll check the numbers on it to see what year its for tonight. Might be a long shot but....

apparently there is a way to make the truck run with out the ECM or PCM according to Blue Chip.(just to eliminate the VP as at fault)
And your codes also say you need an APPS

All is well! Picked up my truck earlier today. The ECM was replaced and all issues have been resolved.
