ok i just swapped my vp for a new one b/c of p0216 code, that was about a month ago, then the other day i stopped to pick up my buddy and go to take off and it was like a dead pedal. checked for codes and nothing that was about a week ago. tonight i was running about 35mph thru town and let off the foot pedal and it stayed at 1200rpm, i could push the pedal to the floor and nothin, then it went too 1800rpm then it died i coasted off the road and tried to restart it and nothin let it sit about a minute and fired right up. my pressure gauge has been jumping around but when i give her medium throttle it levels out about 16psi until i let off of it so im sur its getting fuel.

 

If the tach went coo-coo then I think it is the crankshaft position sensor.It happened to me.Did you put a new cam sensor when the vp44 was changed?

 

no i didnt change the cam sensor.

 

Ok I Just Checked Codes And Got A P1691

 

Do a search on this site or others. It will give you some answers.

 

i think i am going to call mwfi and see what they say because the code is related to the pump

P1691 Fuel Injection Pump Controller
Calibration Error
Internal fuel injection pump failure. Low power, engine
derated, or engine stops

 

I Know When We Used The Scan Tool It Said Possible Causes Was Injection Pump, Cam Sensor, Or Bad Connection Or Ecm, In That Exact Order. But When My Vp Took A Dump The First Time The Only Code Was P0216 So Im Thinking Its Just A Faulty Vp.
