help! fuel pressure jumped

ok so i have a fuel pressure gauge and i went out one day and my fuel gauge went from round 15 to 28, the fuel gauge is an isspro ev2 and its less than a month or two old, so i checked all of the connectors and even pulled the the one that connects on top of the fuel filter and they were all connected correctly, does anyone know what this might be? or if maybe my fuel pressure guage was reading wrong at first?
thanks

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
If mechancial gauge the tube and gear hung up. If electrical, the electrons got boxed in~~~~!!!!!

Do you still have the stock test port? If so, test & confirm pressure there. Harbor Freight sells a kit with all you need. Chain stores have loaners.

you know i didn't even think about that for some reason, i can probably just unplug the sensor for the isspro and test it there, i just was worried if there was something screwy with my truck and that why i posted this after i checked the gauge but i'll see bout getting a pressure gauge to manually test

Are you running a mechanical gauge? If so, do you have an isolator? or is it an electrical gauge?

IMHO! with either electric or mechanic gauge you should use the needle valve for reducing the pulses to protect the gauge. And with the needle valve i closed it and barely crack it open. Hope it help

mine was bouncing all over the place. (15$mech. hyd. pressure 60# gauge tractor supply) cleaned and stretched my return ball and spring in A.D with no results. Called A.D and they suggested pulling of hose to the gauge and "cleaning it out" did this and gauge now reads 18#'s steady. If you ahave a issolator they are known to go bad I've heard. Nate

its the isspro ev2 which is electronic, i don't think i have a needle valve on it, i bought it from genosgarage and installed it, its not pulsing or anything the pressure is just up higher than what it was running at.

Make sure you have a good ground on bare metal. As already advised check it with a mechanical guage on the test port. But I dount your fp is 28 psi.

The needle valve is something you install in line before your gauge. I'm not sure if it is needed for electric gauge as I installed mechanical & didn't research that. Regardless, I bought mine from the hardware store. It allows you to shut the fuel off to the gauge should you need to. It also damps pulses to the gauge.

What lift pump are you running? If aftermarket lift pump & you have confirmed the increase in pressure, I'd talk to the manufacturer. Is there a restriction in the return line?
