Diesel jumped $.16 per gallon today!!!!!!

$.16 per gallon in 12 hrs.???? WTH!!! i drove home from work this morning and fuel was $2.16 and noticed tonight that it jumped to $2.32 per gallon. i have never understood how gas stations can change the price of fuel that is already in their underground tanks. i mean they paid one price for the fuel so how can they change the price of the same fuel????

i am sick of it. when is it ever going to go back down?????????????

Haven't you ever seen the grocery store raise prices on items on their shelves? Or a department store do the same thing? Happens ALL the time.

They may have received a new fill today, ordered one today and got the new price so have to be able to pay for it or are just reacting to supply and demand trends and are charging what they think their market will bear.

It sucks, but it's business.

I'd be happy paying $2.32 a gallon. Here its anywhere from $2.55 to $2.79 a gallon.

Went up $.16 here this weekend also. This stinks!! I am planning a 3000 mile road trip hauling the trailer to california this summer. I am starting to think that airline tickets for 4, a hotel, and a rental car would cost less.

I planned on spending $600 in fuel, looks like I'd better start saving, cause there is no way I am renting a car, flying, and staying in a hotel while my truck and trailer collect dust in the driveway.

I'm done now.

Know the feeling - I'm leaving in less than two weeks to drive to Oregon. If I didn't have the camper it probably would be cheaper to rent a car and stay in motels.

Well, I can tell you one thing, the ridiculous price of fuel and gasoline has not curbed the flow of traffic one bit. I just drove back from Jacksonville, NC and there was as much traffic on I 95 as I have ever seen and more campers and fivers than I have seen on the road ever. AND, I paid $2.35 per gallon in NC for fuel and drug the GN all the way down and back so I was right there too.
