My truck has started "hunting" for gears again (auto) going in and out of high (or in and out of lock up). 98 24valve automatic.

First I had to reset the APPS every 4 mos. then every two. It is finally down to not lasting 5 miles. (But none of the times...did the apps. have a fault code (or any other fault code for that matter).

There are NO CODES, so the APPS is supposed to be fine? So, I've heard that there is a grounding (or shielding) issue??that can help. That is not technically something dodge will fess up to. I've also heard that Michael Emjay, before he died, had made a little unit that would let you actually set the points at which you wanted your auto. to shift at...and at the same time it would eliminate the "hunting" problem from ever happenning.

I've also heard that you can install a switch that will let you lock your truck into overdrive and bypass the computer... Does anybody know anything about this/??????
