heat exchanger
hello, i noticed coolant leak from trans cooler and wanted to know if i could use a differant exchanger instead of stock, cant locate a used one. my truck is a 2000. not sure if i can use one from a newer model or even older one. thanks for any help

The older one has the lines routed differently with the coolant lines front and back [rather than both coming in from the front] and cooler itself is bigger.
It would be much easier and cheaper to use the proper 24V one. That way you would not need to modify ATF and coolant lines, brackets, clamps, ETC.
I don't know about the newer ones, because as far as I am concerned they could have stopped making vehicles in 2002. I am not into the new stuff.
I have a good 24V one on the shop shelf, PM if you if you like.
