Hard Starting...could it be a fuel system problem?
O.K. I am starting to have problems occasionally when I try to start my pickup. I have noticed a small to medium sized spot in my driveway regularly and it appears to be diesel fuel. The location is right underneath the fuel filter (although I have checked to make sure it was tight and the valve was closed). Last night and a couple of times before, when I went to start it, it acted as if it had been run out of fuel (spitting, sputtering and dieing a couple of times before it starts up and keeps running). Could I have something going out, or is there something else I should check.
Thanks for any advice,
Rick

Check the rubber plug around your fuel filter heater element. I sprung a leak there a while ago and I am having to clamp my fuel line below my vp after every shut down just so I can start it again. Bump the starter and let the lp run. Look all around tthe ff canister and all the fittings for the smallest and I mean the smallest of leaks. Agood idea is to clean the engine before hand.
Also, That quote in your sig. may have come from Gen. Patton. It sounds familiar
