engine sensors on an automatic 00 dodge
i got a 2000 dodge 2500 diesel automatic anyone ever had to have any engine sensors changed because every now and again my truck at 3rd and
4th will jump back and fourth for a while then quit, had the transmission checked out and it wasnt nothing with it had new sensors put in and that wasn't it eaither , let me know what some of yall might come up with that the problem is

Electrical noise is usually the culprit.
Clean up all battery terminals and alternator connections.
Make sure the PCM (behind the air filter, on the firewall) has a good ground connection.

Are you sure it's jumping from 4th to 3rd and back? or
Could be your lock up torque convertor locking/unlocking? this is a common problem with older trucks. As simple as a bad ground etc.. to your torque convertor being shot. Does it do this while accellerating or while holding a steady speed?

(overdrive being mistaken for 4th)
