hard to start in the morning
im getting 12.6 Volts on both batteries but wont start in the morning. i norm cycle the heaters 2 or 3 times... i can hear the silonoid clicking but wont even turn over the motor.
If you hear it clicking, but no movement from the starter, I'm going to guess that your starter contacts are shot. When mine went out, it would start sometimes, other times I'd have to try over and over again till it would finally engage. When I pulled out the original ones, one side was almost completely burned through.
You can find replacement heavy duty contacts here:
Foster Truck
or
Geno's Garage

Agreed. This is well worth your time since a new starter is ridiculously expensive. My last one was over $80 just to get rebuilt. I'm going to do the contacts myself next time for sure.
No typically only the contact wear down. Purchase the contacts from Foster and you'll be done with it for another long time. The rest of the starter will go through at least 3 sets of contacts.
