Not real sure of this, but on my 98 under hood fuse box is labeled "Fuel/Heater" relay. Shows both a fuse and a relay. HTH

well...i case you all were wondering....which seems like most people did not.... after an exhaustive search with the help of some good guys in the chat we came up with nothing until this morning, it was suggested that i disconnect the battery cables for a few hrs and so i did and let them set off for overnite.
well this morning when i hooked them up and turned the key and low and behold on came the grid heaters and the wait to start light. at first it was nothing, then the light came on and the heaters for maybe 2 secs, i then turned the key back and tried again and this time it all came on like it should, i did this about 3 more times and then tried to start the truck, IT FIRED RIGHT UP! by the way, the truck was not plugged in for this prupose and its -4 degrees out right now.
thanks for all the help and to the guys that stayed up til 2:30 am last nite trying to figure this out...AKDSLDOG..hope you dont have a hang over today!!

It's -4 deg. and the heaters on came on for 2-seconds?

You shouldn't turn your preheat on that many times in a row, it will cause them to overheat. I had a problem with mine not working on my 97 and it was the preheat realy. They replaced that and it works fine now.

well...ok...we checked all the relays and i wasnt getting power to the relay coil or something...as far as turning them on and off a few times it was just to test the system. i did start it after the 3 start....let it run for a minute or so and shut down...and did it again.

at first they were only on for a few seconds....then after the 2nd and 3rd times they functioned normally...

must have just had to reset the computer or something
