Gov. Pres. Sensor, dang shift pattern!
Gov. Pres. Sensor, dang shift pattern!
Just got my tranny overhauled, everything is ok with it, the question is, the first to second shift is always different, sonwtimes it will shift at 10mph, sometimes 17mph, sometimes higher or lower, and under the same throttle pressure, obviosly later with more throttle, but I am talking about light throttle. and the firmness is always different as well, I am wondering if I have a dirty governor pressure sensor or solenoid? It is really annoying, I would like it to stay at about 10mph under light to normal throttlr, but it is always different. If it is the sensor, is there a way to clean it?
sensor
yes, I have tried that, no change, I read somewhere that you can let the truck idle in nuetral for like 30 seconds, then put into first and rev it and will build high pressure and can clean the gov pressure sensor, anyone else heard of this?
Yea... I found it. Its quite a complicate procedure with a lot of details. Chrysler calls it the "Drive Learn" procedure, and it is described as a "fine tuning procedure" used to complement the "Quick Learn" TCM/DRB process.
I guess the only potentially helpful info I have, along these lines, is that TCM has a series of shift schedules that are dependant on TPS/APPS, Engine load, fluid temp, and software version. Its possible that when you notice a difference in shifting, the Trans Control Module is applying a different shift schedule.
Do you experience a different rpm/shift on the same stretch of road? On a level surface with the same fluid temp?
In any event the programing procedure I was looking for seems to be useless without the special DRB tool.
Sorry if I got your hopes up

Actually, tell me about it the procedure, I work ar a Chrysler Dealership here in Grand Rapids, and I use the DRB III all day long, and can use it on my truck anytime, I have done a re-flash on it and a few other things, so let me know!
