Ok I Guess There Arent Many Answers To This I Am Going To Put A Afe Stage 2 Intake And A 4 " Straight And After Some Overtime I Am Going To Put A Kevlar Clutch In! Should I Put Injectors In Also Will That Help My Millage At All? I Pull Alot Of Horse Trailers To Rodeos Will All This Extras Hurt My Truck (like Blow My Motor)

I'm running a pretty close set up to what you are thinking about. with the exception of the Injectors & edge. 6-speed, 3.54 gears, afe stage II, 4" turbo back, w/285's and get around 17 mpg mixed driving.

I'm getting quite good MPG number with mine and I'm running on 4x4 with a light foot or using cruise control.

http://www.frontiernet.net/~mopar197...el%20graph.jpg <- Fuel records graph...

I got my Edge Comp installed at 92K miles and notice the graph starts heading up...

My secret is running 4x4. Keep my boost below 5 PSI if possible and also keep the pyro below 650*F if possible. Cruise control set a lower speeds helps a bunch. Like if speed limit is 65 MPH set it for 60 MPH if traffic allows. Speeds over 55 MPH with increase boost and pyro fast!

Keep you tires aired up. 50-60 PSI.

If you got a lift kit and/or larger tires this will eat a big hole in the MPG number. You got more wind drag and lose HP/TQ to turning those tires.

If you see smoke to fueling to hard. Back off. Black smoke is unburned fuel!

I have 4.10 gears and do about 2400-2500rpm @ 70. So you have 3.55 gears.

Some of these trucks don't seam to get the fuel mileage that others git. My city mileage sucks, I don't ever drive far enough to get the truck warmed up. Now hwy mileage is a different story. On flat ground and a good warm day I can knock down 19 at 80 MPH.

Check you thermostat and make sure you have a 190 degree in there. A 180 thermostat can drop your mileage down a easy 2 mpg.

Mine has gone from about 20 overall to barely 17 since the introduction of ULSD.

I always understood that diesels get the best mileage when they're operating at their peak torque. Would the mods you have move your peak torque up the rpm range or lower in your rpm range? I can get 19 mpg on the highway if I hang around 55 mph (1500 rpm) but it sure seems slow! I'm expecting better numbers as the engine gets broken in - I've only got 7K on this truck so far!

My 2500 has 3.55's and at 2000 she runs about 70 also. A friend has 4.10's and I think he runs over 2000 @ a bit over 60. As for gas mileage every foot is different and its hard to get an overall #. I live in Canada and our gallon is = to 4.546 litres where a U.S. gallonis = to 3.78 litres I think. On my computer over head it says US 20-21 jigging not highway not city( 50mph) and 23-24 US highway average. A US gallon is 4/5th's a Canadian so if you take the 24 x 5=120/4=30 mpg/Canadian. Now don't call me crazy but I drive holding my foot off the go peddle. I don't even hear the turbo spooling. I baby my truck toooo much. I'm sure if I were to get at her it would be a different story. As for winter driving with winter fuel that is a whole different story. The comp shows 12mpg US = 15 mpg Canadian.

Forgive me in my stereotype but here is what i see:

20 Year old (Texas Man) with a 3500 Dodge diesel with a Comp Box. I would be willing to bet your foot is in it with the box turned up past the first setting. How much smoke you blowing? Yeah...though so! I'm just kidding around.....(Case in Point: BigBlue) Dont get twisted at me...because you and only you know how you drive your truck......

I only say all this because i was a 20 year old "Texas Man" about 9 years ago and i know how i drove my 300 Inline 6 Ford...i swore it was a 460! AND i know how Texans like to show off their trucks! haha....

You have 3.73 (Or 3.54...cant remember what i got) gears if you are at 2K at 70. My suggestion is to make an effort on driving like you want mileage. Dont run the gears out and quit using the upper 4 setting on the Comp box (OR just stick the thing in the glove box....). That first setting is pretty much an EZ. This will give you the timing you need to try to get some MPGs out of your engine. Keep the thing under 2K as much as you can.

Remember you have a DRW Truck.....you got a lot of drag going on here. My truck is a SRW and i only get about 17.5-18 on a good day. I don't baby it all the time, but i dont drive with my foot on the floor either. If you thinking your going to get 25 MPG out of your rig......might as well sell it now.....

These engine's are fun....but the more you blast on them.....the more fuel you will use......

Was on the highway last night and looked closer at the tach. It was 1 mark below 2000 so I guess its 1875 @ 70 mph. I thought it was 2000 @ 70, I have the 3.55's
