gas mileage question
The best i have ever gotten was 18 all highway i was going about 75-80 mph with the a/c on and leaving a black cloud every chance i got while waeving in and out of traffic pyro was at around 780 with 9 psi of boost. the worst i have ever gotten was 16.5 mpg half that was pulling a trailer and city driving also while leaving a trail of soot. i got the edge juice set to 5x5 and for some reasone my millage doesnt seem to be effected by my smoke out put. i cant belive thats possible but it seems to be.
i had it set to 1 and averaged 16.5 mpg most of the time trying to drive like a normal person then i turned it up to 5x5 and usually average 17.5 now if i just had some mach 4s and a new turbo maybe i could hit 20

Have your valves adjusted.
Nice new tires will help on the mpg.
Run some kind of additive in the fuel. Biodiesel @ 20% (B-20) can safely be ran in any diesel burning rig on the road today. Lucas makes a great diesel additive.
Run an aftermarket air box or at least a new aftermarket air filter.
Upgrade the exhaust to a 4 inch system.
Look for an "Economy Chip" as that usually has superb mpg characteristics. Quadzilla makes one. And there are others too.
I see no reason why your truck won't get what everyone else gets mileage wise. With these upgrades it'll at least be something close....
FYI with my upgrades, I'm getting 21+ mpg last tank, which makes me happy.

yanno its funny uphere in NH/VT I have asked many about milage old 92 12v got 23-25 with alot less power. My current 98.5 2500 gets 19 and 13-15 trailering and was at 21 with biodiesel last summer dropped in sept and never came back. All the guys with manuals same year say 25 mpg.my brother swears his 03 gets 25 with a auto.My brother in-law has a 06 dually 4x4 and he claims 14 as best and as low as 10 towing a 35'16k trailer.I agree keep your right foot light.when I do milage comes up alot, when I cruise on interstate at 85-90 I get 14-15.Pays to slow down.

Nice new tires will help on the mpg. Stock sized tires (no oversized!)
Run some kind of additive in the fuel. Biodiesel @ 20% (B-20) can safely be ran in any diesel burning rig on the road today. Lucas makes a great diesel additive. - Try 2 cycle oil works really good for MPG's too.
Run an aftermarket air box or at least a new aftermarket air filter. - BHAF is a good choice.
Upgrade the exhaust to a 4 inch system. - 3" straight pipe wil get you up to 22.92 MPG.
Look for an "Economy Chip" as that usually has superb mpg characteristics. Quadzilla makes one. And there are others too. - Edge Comp is a good chip but you must play by some rulles. don't go over 5 PSI of boost and keep you pyro down to 600*F.

FYI with my upgrades, I'm getting 21+ mpg last tank, which makes me happy. My normal average is 19-20 MPG.
