Fuel water separator not working

When I open the valve on my fuel water separator nothing comes out. This is the valve on my fuel filter housing. On my 2004 fuel would always come out, and I did this every oil change to make sure there was no water in the fuel. Is this different on an 02? If, not what could be wrong?

I did mine the other day and the same thing, but I could hear the fuel running back out of the filter. I started the engine and let it run a few seconds and shut her down. I tried it again and I got lots of fuel on the ground. I don't know if there is a check ball in the line that may have been sticking or what. Just have a listen to see if you can hear the fuel going back. Its like a sucking of air entering the filter.

Mine's never been able to drain unless I loosen the lid, or have the engine running (which is a bad thing to try )

I only drain it every 10K when i change the filter.
Have yet to find even a microscopic drop of water in it.
I drain it into a 20oz soda bottle and let it sit so any water will sink to the bottom.

I bet if you went and loosed the fuel cap (at tank) you would find that the fuel WILL drain, Old 300, my guess the noise you heard was the vacuum in the tank sucking the fuel outta the filter

also this could be another reason for your dropping fuel pressure, try leaving the cap loose, IF you have a huge vacuum in the tank,
