fuel pumps

Unfortunately I am out of the country right now so I can't physically look at what I have. I want to insure positive fuel preasure to my VP and I hear reference to "fass", and "vulcan" remote pump position kits. Could I get some clarification on on this. Is my pump in the tank? I saw a post with a sketch of a 24 valve engine with a electric pump mounted on the engine.

note: I will be hooking up a fuel preasure warning system.

last note: The truck is bone stock and I have no intentions of raising the power level.

thanks all
grant

The pump is not in the tank...its on the engine behind the fuel filter. I have the pusher pump kit from BD. It came with everything you need for the install, was priced right and bumped my fp to about 24 lbs at idle 18 WOT

The FASS II is a replacement for the stock LP set up that still uses your stock filter set up. Like the previous post says your stock LP is located on the engine driver's side, behind the fuel filter canister. Pretty easy to get at and replace the stock one for $160 if you need to. The FASS II is about $375. Best thing to do is get a fuel pressure guage installed and see where you are at first. If you have good pressure leave it alone. When you need to replace it you might want to look at the FASS II. IMHO.
