Fuel pump wiring problem

So I got the Campaign pump and set about to installing it. Got the fuel filter canister out of the way and got the old one out. It is tough working down in there! So, here's the problem: the old pump just has the two wires coming out the bottom, and they go around to the top of the pump, where they have the female end of the connector plugging in the truck's male end. Furthermore, there's a bracket the holds the connectors in position on top of the pump bracket.

Now, the new pump doesn't come with a cable coming out the bottom. Instead, there's the female end connector on the bottom. Problem is, the truck's cable is too short to get plugged in at the bottom of the pump. The connection is correct, but the cable just isn't going to reach.

How have people dealt with this situation. I really don't want to get into splicing if possible. Is it possible to get those wiring harness/connectors to build your own extension cord, STS, with a female end to plug the truck's end into, and a male end to plug into the pump? I figured I could use the cable from the old pump as the extension cord.

You'll need a pigtail, since they no longer make that style pump. It was sold with some of the pumps but not all. I don't know how soon you need it, but I've got one laying in the garage collecting dust. It's yours if you want it. They sell for about $8 from Cummins.

Piperca, thanks for the offer - it would probably be quicker for me to go Cummins since they're right across the bridge from me. I really appreciate the info and offer :-)

The old connector already has a green wire with a black tracer to power up the pump. The green and black wire runs to a bulk head connector thats near the fender skirt and fire wall drivers side. The new connector from the new relay will connect here .1998 to 1999 will use one of connectors 2000 to 2002 will use another because the bulk head connectors are different.
