Fuel PSI Test Port Location

I was just wondering where the fuel test port is on a 2000 dodge ram. I looked on the diagram & have a general idea but I was wondering if anyone could take a picture of it so I can see a better location....

On the side of the VP44, should have black plastic valve stem cap on it.

Sorry, no picture.

You also might have two brass plugs on top of you fuel filter housing, if it's like my 99.

Nope,,,,,,
The 98.5 and the 99 were the only ones with the fuel filter housing designed with the test ports in the top. They changed the filter housing in 2000.

We get a cool plastic cap that you can't tap, but screws off for conveniant fuel filter changes.

As to the original poster, if you're asking where to tap in for the fuel pressure guage,
the bottom of the filter cannister is a popuar place.
Away from the VP44 pulses that can be found by using the test port.
Also leaves the test port for Dodge to use should you ever take it in for service.

The search feature is great -- keeps from posting new threads with the same question that has already been answered. I noticed there is also a stem with a plastic cap coming out of the back/cab side of my 2000's fuel filter cannister. Is this used to test the "pre-filter" pressure?

Yes, that is the test port for Dodge techs to test pressure, although, they don't test pressure anymore, instead they test flow, so many liters in so many seconds.

Does anyone know what fittings are needed to use the port off the VP44 banjo? I pulled the isolator and guage off my '99, and currently have a (male) 1/8 NPT hose fitting.

I've also read about using a special (schrader?) valve to eliminate the VP pulses -- what is it, and where can I find one?
