Fuel Problem,Tranny or Both?

Exclamation Fuel Problem,Tranny or Both?

2002 Ram 2500 4x2 auto 92,000 miles, mostly highway, minimal towing, no mods.

Symptoms:
There are no codes and the check engine light has never even flashed on always starts right up. I use howes fuel treatment every couple of months.

Started 2 months ago with a lack of power on acceleration. It accelerated but very slowly. Could mash pedal to the floor and it made no difference. This usually only happened in the morning when cold. I would run crappy for a mile or so and then take off like normal.

Then I noticed that it would lose speed when on cruise control after it dropped about 4-5 mph it would kick down and accelerate back to set mph. Some times it would be running fine at 70-75 but if I pressed the accelerater it would not accelerate and pedal felt like it was not doing anything. Accel button on cruise also didn't do anything.

I cleaned the battery terminals, changed fuel filter a couple weeks ago and had tranny serviced (flushed) and replaced air filter 3 days ago (the tranny has been flushed 3x by dealer (over life) but the pan has never been off).

The morning after the flush the truck would accel to about 20-22 mph and then the engine would rev but the speed would not increase. I pulled over and checked the fluid and it was OK. When I got back in it ran fine I drove about 500 miles with a couple stops and no problems. Then stopped to get fuel and it did it again, rev but no speed increase, also noticed that the fuel guage was very slow to go to full. I stopped on the ramp and remembered that I once had problem with guages and wiggled the plug on top of the diff. It seemed fine and when I got back in it took off OK.

I started it this morning after the trip and after a 2-3 min warmup pressed the acc and it ran real rough at about 1500 rpm and lots of blueish white smoke. I put it in the garage and started reading here.

I think I have pieced togerther by reading here that my lift pump has probably failed and may have killed the injecter pump. I don't know why the engine revs with no tranny power and why was the gas guage slow. Could this all be an electrical problem with a sensor or a control module?
