fuel pressure -- too high

Yeah, I was more talking about high pressure on the plastic cap of the fuel filter canister. At 25psi over the 3 inch disk that puts around 175 pounds of force on the top of the canister. (pi x r squared = 1.5x3.1415=7ish square inches // times 25psi=175). At 60psi that would equate to 420 pounds of force on the plastic cap. As far as the VP goes I was only saying that the maximum cooling and lubricating happens at 14psi since it starts to bypass above that value. Anything above that value is putting undue pressure on everything else and not helping your engine run better. JMHO....

correct.....AND....I for got about the high quality "plastic" fuel filter canister crappy cap..LOL

the Ip starts to bypass at 14 psi. i personally would still like to see it a little above that because any bypassing fuel takes heat with it

With no overflow valve installed, I can maintain 40+ psi at idle, and 35+ at WOT.

Seems to me the primary purpose of the overflow valve is to hold some pressure on the case overall. Some have modified this valve to hold more pressure with the use of a 12V overflow valve shimmed appropriately....

wow..intersting thread.
mines at 22-23 at idle hot/cold and 16 WOT.

no worries on the filter cannister..mines metal not plastic.
so I'm going to leave it alone for now thanks guys.
