fuel pressure ?

Just installed new fuel pressure gauge. Upon starting, pressure was @ 8 psi then slowly decilined to 0. Is it time for pusher pump?

dieselho,

It is time for a new lift pump and possibly a new injection pump. When my first lift pump was replaced, my injection pump failed about 5000 miles later. When dodge replaced my injection pump, I installed a vulcan big line lift pump relocation kit on my truck. I am seeing 14psi idle and can not drop it lower that 10psi. I replaced mine with the OEM like lift pump from NAPA since it has a 1 year warranty and NAPA dealers are easy to find.

I think you need to replace/modify/upgrade you lift pump system asap and hope you didn't ruin the injection pump. You have alot of options such as the vulcan, rasp, fass, holley, etc and each has their good and bad points. You can read here on this subject for weeks on end.

good luck,

Joe

XJ....what is the NAPA part number you used?
Where can I get this Vulcan kit?
My Brother in law just called to say the lift pump died on the truck I sold him.
Need to get it fixed ASAP.
