There is a schrader valve on the fuel injection pump. I think in an 01 that is the easiest place to test. The other option is to use a tapped banjo on the outlet of the fuel filter. (bottom). Once you get your guages you should have instructions and the hookup at the bottom of the fuel filter is simple. You need the guage on the outlet side of the fuel filter because then if you have bad pressure due to a clogged filter it will show up. Another possibility is to get the tapped fuel filter cap from geno's garage. Hope I didn't confuse you too much!! Pressure should be 12+ at idle and 7 min at full throttle. You can get by with 5 full throttle but that is bare min. Normal for good pump is 13-14 idle, 11-12 cruise and 8-9 full throttle.

1-2 psi?

yeah, you should have more pressure there. I have my FP hooked up at the schrader valve and I get 12-14 at idle, 8-10 at cruise. Make sure you don't over tighten the hose ot the schrader valve.

You need the "in service date" to know if you still have warranty. Mine is done in 10 days.

Thats the day the truck was purchased new and titled. You can check with the sevice writer at the dealership and they can tell you the in-service date. They will look it up by the VIN.
