Question Fuel pressure

I've got 10 lbs of fuel pressure at idle at the vp44 and about 11-12# pre filter. This has dropped a little since I last checked it. After a new fuel filter it remains the same. I have an extended factory warranty but don't want the dealer to put the lift pump in the tank if its going bad. Should I just replace the campaign pump myself or wait for the VP44 to go? Also, will a fass or vulcan affect my warranty? Anyone? Thanks, Kurt

My personal opinion, if you have 10 psi and it doesn't dip too much under load then you are probably ok.

I think it's safe to assume that any modifications to the fuel system will decrease your chances of having warranty engine work done, especially a VP replacement, and especially a complete fuel system replacement like the FASS.

My VP is going (regularly throws codes) and the local dealer said no to a warranty replacement of mine based on the fuel system mods.

Was yours throwing codes before you put the new fass on? Just curious----why you put the fass on, to keep it going or to keep from having to replace the IP from loosing the lift pump?

Thanks for your reply cditrani. When I got the truck in April it had 11-12# at idle and about 9-11# at wot. This drop seemed strange and has occured since the new ulsd fuel has been available. I don't know if that would affect it or not.

No codes before the FASS, but I don't attribute the VP failing to the FASS. My fuel pressure has been rock-steady since the FASS.
