12MPG sounds a little low. Possibly because of the gears.

I would think you should be somewhere between 16 - 18 for this time of year.

No winter fuel sold in OK at this time of yr.... unless you buy at truck stops?
Wal-Mart sells #2 yr round here.... better mileage.

Even with 3" lift and 410 rear end, you should be getting 15 around town and at least 18 on hwy..... unless you're doing a lot of warm up idleing?

Hmmm I do plug it in most nights and it idles 15minutes or so, last summer I never saw more than 15.0 even on mpg... Getting 18 would be awesome I change the fuel filter every other oil change.
What other things could reduce mileage??

I get around 12 or 13 but my truck weighs around 12500 empty with welder - dump bed, crane etc.

What RPM are you shifting at ?? And what RPM out on the road ?

Best mileage is normally obtained around 1800-1900 RPM .

This is a diesel not a gasser no need to wind it real high in every gear also how heavy is your foot on the skinny pedal around town ?
