fuel milage

just bought my first dodge cummins.[love it]put a k&m air filter on it.the trip computer shows my mpg at 15.4.i have a light foot and have put on about 200 miles since bringing it home.have brand new lt265/75 r16.was hoping to do better.

I don't always trust the overhead readout for mileage. Zero your tripometer at each fillup and calculate it manually for each full tank. I'm sure you will be happier.

Check your air pressure to make sure you have enough air in them. Depending if you are towing / hauling and the load range of the tire installed, put the presure up to the upper limits of the tires capabilities. Ex. my load range "E" Michelins say 80 max psi (cold) I will run 65-70 lbs in them. Just something for you to check into....
