Fuel Gauge Failure

Fuel gauge is not reading correct amount, is there a sending unit in the tank that can go bad and what would you look under to find the part #? Twogun

Do you have a draw tube in the tank? It is possible that it is interfering.

Also, floats have been known to come off or get saturated.

From my past experiences, it is the float level sensor in the tank. I have had three go bad. It costs around $65.00 from the dealer. Either drop tank or lift the bed. Will be a good time to install a draw straw at the same time!!!! I actually have mine dropped right now. part will be here today. By the way, when taking the wires out of the connector (for the sensor), DO NOT PULL THEM OUT!!!! use the tool or whaterver it is to take them out correctly or you will be buying a whole new fuel tank module $400.00. Can't buy the little electrical connector by itself.
