Front oil seal dilema

Attempting to replace the front crank seal on my 2002. Seemed like a straight forward repair. There are some excellent Youtube videos available that don't address my particular problem however.
I put a wear sleeve on the crank seal area and now the plastic guide/seal lip protector supplied with the seal will not slip over the end of the crank.
I forced the issue and now I'm buying another seal as a result.
Hoping some of you Cummins expert have encountered this and can offer up a solution.
Thanks in advance!

Since the wear sleeve makes the crank snout bigger you will need the correct seal for the application with the wear sleeve.
(I hope you used the Cummins part for the wear sleeve, then you can get the oil seal through Cummins)

Should be part # 3802820

That makes perfect sense but sadly that didn't occur to me. The youtube videos didn't mention it either. The seal and sleeve I bought are SKF. I wonder if there is a way to remove the sleeve and start over.
Thanks for the feedback.

Did they come as a set?

Maybe it was just mismatched...

Good Luck!

Hope you get the correct seal for the sleeve and then you're golden.

PS- I usually don't need a sleeve, I measure the install depth of the seal before removal and install the new seal to a different depth so that it does not ride in the groove the old seal created.
