Front end noise

I have an 2002 2500 Q/C 4X4. The truck has 73000 mi on it and I have had it since new. About 5000 mi ago there seemed to be a slight noise intermittently coming from the front end somewhere with the cruise on running at steady speed and it has gotten progressively worse to the point now you can feel it at all road speeds. Any ideas?

For now check your U-Joints and front wheel bearings and axle joints. If you still can't find it try to be more descriptive of the noise , what brings it on or decreases it, sound, pitch, if it's only with cruise, decell, accell, turning, braking, etc, etc.
Check the tires for abnormal wear and inflation.

It sounds kinda like a bearing. But the thing that throws me off is it seems to go away when it coasts going down hill with the torque converter locked. I tried it in 3rd locked and the nose is still there. I still think its something in the front axle but I'm not sure what it is.

If you have a 2 piece rear driveshaft, drop the carrier bearing saddle down and check it for noise or rough feel while turning it. Might want to drop the whole shaft and check all u-joints for ease of movement. Sometimes the noise telegraphs thru the truck and comes out somewhere else. Next you could jack up front wheels and rotate slowly checking for loose bearings and noise.
