I am thinkin about removing the foam/fiberglass heatshield on my firewall behind my motor, any reasons not too other than noise???

I would see a lot of heat getting to the cab, especially on the passenger side where the exaust passes.... but I am still new and the "old timers" will chime in too

You might want to replace it. I know the exhuast gets really hot. The undercoating on my truck is melting from the heat of the exhaust. I would hate to see what it might do to the carpet in time.

Took it off, dealer says its nothing important...

You guys might be thinking of the wrong one, its the fiberglass shield that attaches under the windshield cowling, under the wipers...

Not the metal heatshield on the back firewall!!
