Unhappy It finally happened...

After 168K miles, the factory injector pump has died.

Lucky for me I was in town, and at a shop when it went. I had been having starter problems for a couple days, and finally got it to the shop to get it replaced. The starter works fine now, but they could not start the engine. Had my "Diesel Guy" from another shop come over and check it. He ran a code check and it said injector pump failure.

He is now towing it to his shop for me and will order my parts.

Hope to have it back by Wednesday or Thursday.

Never get rid of your factory starter! You can rebuild it cheap. The aftermarket ones are JUNK.

That is so crazy because mine went out at exactly 182,000!!

Amazing that the numbers are so close. OBTW, I hit 182,000 after owning the truck for 10 years so I say it lasted very well. Also, when I replaced, I got a unit with a 5 year unlimited mileage warranty.

I might be adding the direct replacement Raptor 100 and remove the stock lift pump soon. My truck now has 185,000 on it.
