i changed the fuel filter yesterday and got to wondering. mine was black as night. does diesel just turn these that color or was it truly clogged? also after the swap out, i primed the filter[ yes lp is working] with the bump the starter method 3 times. go to start, and it just cranked over, nothing. ended up bleeding # 1 & 3 injectors--how did air get in the injectors? not that it was a big deal[ it would have been if not for this site ] but i am curious as to why

 

I believe you have to crack the inlet banjo bolt to the IP to bleed the air with the bump method. I went through the same thing.
