Fass DDRP no inlet screen?

I just finished installing a new VP44 and the install went well and to plan. When I purchased the pump I also bought a Fass DDRP and installed at the same time as the VP44, the instuctions that came with the DDRP show a screen that needs to be installed at the inlet of the pump only it was not included with the kit. So the truck is sitting with no hopes of getting the replacment until Tuesday. I am hesitant to run the pump even just to prime the system without the screen. Has anyone run the DDRP without the screen? It is very disapointing to get this this far and then not be able to complete the job because a fifty cent item was not included in the kit.

I didn't put the screen in and I've got about 5k on it with no problems. FP is steady so I'm not going to worry about it. I also did a VP swap today and it went smooth...unlike most everything else I touch.

Thumbs up

Well I got the screen Tuesday as promised and put it in tonight. After filling the filter housing and then only a few cranks to blead the lines and VP she started right up and smoothed out as I tightened the injector lines. I am truly amazed at the increase in power, even better than when the truck was new. Fuel pressure is 22 at idle and never less than 15 at wot. Im glad I went for the Special X, now to see what happens with MPG.

I'd have ditched the screen and installed a pre-spin on filter. Far better inlet LP filtration, easy to replace and inexpensive.
